Mobile device access to Straightsell websites - April 2016

Straightsell

The Straightsell shared server environment receives tens of millions of page requests every month. We capture statistical data about the types of devices used to access our customer's websites and periodically present an analysis of this data. This time, we are reviewing data captured over one week in April 2016.

A somewhat unexpected outcome is a fall in the number of mobile devices that access the Straightsell hosted websites in the tested period, despite a large increase in total volume from the last time we performed an analysis.

Despite the total number of pages requested in the one week period increasing by 13%, the number of mobile devices fell in absolute terms by 7% and proportionally by 17%. We are confident in our analysis, and believe that the reversal of the previous trend is due to a shift in the makeup of our client base over the past 10 months.
